Course overview
Ensuring the health and safety of the people you support is paramount. Our 3-day Accredited First Aid at Work course is designed for health and social care environments, giving learners the knowledge, practical skills and confidence to respond effectively to a wide range of incidents and medical emergencies.
Training is highly practical and scenario-led. Learners build strong foundations in assessment and decision-making, then apply techniques through supervised practice that reflects real workplace situations. For organisations, this course provides a robust, accredited first aid capability and supports safer, more consistent emergency response across teams.

What you’ll cover
- Roles and responsibilities of the first aider
- Scene safety, casualty assessment and prioritisation
- Basic life support (CPR) and use of an AED
- Choking (adult) and breathing difficulties
- Bleeding, shock, wounds and burns
- Fractures, sprains and other common injuries
- Medical conditions (including diabetes, asthma and seizures)
- Use of first aid equipment and incident recording
- Risk assessment, emergency planning and escalation
- Wellbeing considerations and supporting people after an incident
Our experienced trainers use a mix of classroom learning, demonstrations, practical exercises and realistic scenarios so learners leave prepared to act calmly and effectively. For private courses, we can tailor scenarios to your setting, your policies, and the risks most relevant to your service.
