This refresher is designed for experienced trainers who need to update and maintain their competence in delivering Moving and Positioning of People training. It keeps your delivery aligned with current UK best practice and—where applicable—supports continued alignment with All Wales Passport expectations in Wales.
Building on your existing knowledge, the course provides a focused update across the areas that matter most in day-to-day delivery: training methods, assessment, safe practice, and risk management. The aim is simple: ensure you leave confident, current, and ready to deliver high-quality training that is consistent, evidence-based and practical.

- Use of equipment and aids: update on assistive devices and safe application.
- Risk assessment and management: strengthen decision-making and risk controls (including dynamic risk assessment).
Delivery and assessment
The course is facilitated by sector-experienced, qualified trainers with extensive backgrounds in health and social care. Delivery is practical and engaging, using scenarios and discussion to ensure learning transfers into real working environments.
Assessment is built in to confirm you remain competent and confident to deliver training, and may include a risk assessment scenario, multiple-choice questions, and a teach-back segment to demonstrate training delivery skills.
