Course overview
Violence and aggression can occur in a wide range of health and social care settings—and when it does, it can have serious consequences for people receiving care and for staff. This course provides a practical, structured approach to preventing, recognising and managing challenging situations, helping teams create a safer environment while maintaining professionalism and dignity.
The focus is on building confidence and competence: understanding why incidents happen, communicating effectively under pressure, applying de-escalation strategies, and knowing what to do if behaviour escalates. Where physical skills are included, they are taught with safety, legality and proportionality at the centre.
